Quality Knife Sharpening Since 2018
STAY SHARP...
Welcome to TackSharp Knife Sharpening
I started out a number of years ago forging and making my own knives for fun using hammer, forge and anvil. It was a hobby I enjoyed and I would give the knives to friends and family. As time went on, word spread that I was a "knife guy" and friends and neighbors would regularly ask if I could sharpen their personal knives. And so, TackSharp was born!
I provide knife and tool sharpening and repair services throughout Putnam and surrounding counties of New York and Connecticut. The most common items I receive are chef knives, serrated knives, Japanese knives, pocket knives, machetes, garden tools and even pizza cutting wheels... TackSharp can sharpen them all!
Since everyone has busy lives, I make it as convenient as possible by offering 24 hour drop-off and pick-up. Simply drop your items off with your contact information, and once they have received the TackSharp treatment, I will notify you and set up a pick-up time. It's that easy! Turnaround time is typically 48 hours. Gift certificates also available.

I am conveniently located near Interstates 684 and 84.

HOW IT WORKS
24 Hour Contactless Drop-Off and Pick-Up By Appointment
-
Simply call, text or email me to let me know what day and time you'd like to drop off your items. Feel free to ask me any questions!

-
Let me know if there are any issues or special instructions such as damage, warped or bent blades, etc. Note: Bent tips run the risk of snapping when repairing. If this happens, I will give it a new pointy tip

-
Most Japanese knives & santoku knives have a right or left handed bevel so please indicate if you'd like to leave the bevel as-is, or change it at no additional charge

-
Put the items in a paper bag or a box, wrap them in a kitchen towel or newspaper, or just bring them as-is. Don’t stress! I wrap all the items in brown paper myself when they’re done.

-
Drop off your items in the clearly marked, large drop-off box conveniently located in the driveway.

-
Whether it's your 1st time or 100th time dropping items off, leave your name and contact info with your items so that I can contact you when they're done. Multiple people may drop items off so labeling them avoids confusion.

-
Once your items are ready, I will contact you. You tell me what day and time you will be picking up, and I put them out in the drop-off box for you. It’s that easy!
-
Payment: Cash is preferred, but I also have Venmo and Paypal which adds a 3% fee.
